A fixed price per instrument instead of an hourly rate — several instruments as a combined transport with a discount. Floors on an open scale. Anything extra is in the quote in advance. This page shows the full calculation — without asterisks.
For a piano move an hourly rate is the worse deal for you: the longer it takes, the more you pay. So we price per instrument — and carry the risk ourselves if the staircase turns out tighter than expected. For several instruments on one date we quote a combined transport with a combination discount instead of two full single prices.

How stairs change the price
Stairs are the single biggest cost factor in piano moving — and the most common source of nasty surprises with other companies. So here is our scale, in the open.

No hourly rate, no waiting-time fee, no "difficulty surcharge" on moving day. What the quote says is what the invoice says.
What a fixed price actually means for you
The difference between a fixed price and an hourly rate only ever shows up when something does not go to plan.
01
You do not pay for our time
If the staircase is tighter than expected and it takes us an hour longer, that is our risk — not your invoice.
02
You do not pay for travel or traffic
Within Vienna the journey is included. No call-out fee, no waiting-time charge.
03
You do not pay anything afterwards
Surcharges that are not in the quote do not exist. Not on moving day, and not verbally either.
04
You can compare honestly
A fixed price can be compared with other fixed prices. An hourly rate of € 45 tells you nothing while the number of hours is open.
The one condition is that our basis for calculation is correct. That is why we ask for photos — not as a formality, but so that the price holds.
Digital pianos? We move them at a standard price
A small digital piano usually weighs just 40 to 60 kilograms and is carefully wrapped and carried by hand — no crane, no skid, just two practised people. So there is a simple standard price for it: from € 190 within Vienna.
For anything over 150 kilos, anything with a staircase in the way, or anything worth more than the move costs, the ratio flips. There, the cheapest invoice is rarely the cheapest outcome.
✓We will tell you honestly when a job does not make economic sense with us✓We do not recommend a crane when the staircase will do✓We do not sell you extras you do not need
If your question is not here, call us. We would rather sort something out in two minutes on the phone than in two days by email.
From three things: instrument type, floors at both addresses, and distance. The calculator on this page reflects exactly that — small piano from 210 €, standard upright from 270 €, grand from 480 €, plus 24 €, 26 € or 46 € per floor. As soon as you send photos, the guide figure becomes a binding fixed price in the quote.
24 € for a small piano, 26 € for a standard upright, 46 € for a grand — counted separately at each address. Up to five steps we do not charge at all. If there is a usable lift the instrument fits into upright, the floor surcharge does not apply at all.
No. Everything we can see from your photos and details is in the quote — floors, no-stopping zone, dismantling, crane. We only recalculate if the basis changes: an extra floor, a different address, a no-stopping zone requested at short notice. And even then we discuss it beforehand, not in the invoice.
From the Vienna city limit we add 0.65 € per kilometre one way — so nearby destinations such as Klosterneuburg, Mödling or Schwechat are quickly worked out. Inside Vienna there is no call-out fee.
After the move, by bank transfer against invoice or in cash on site. Companies, music schools and institutions are of course invoiced with payment terms. We only ask for a deposit on reserved special dates.
You can cancel up to 24 hours before the date and postpone at any time — a phone call is enough. If you cancel, we only charge costs actually incurred, such as a no-stopping zone already applied for and paid; for a firmly booked crane a part of the crane costs is always due, because it is hired from an external operator. We would always rather postpone than cancel, and a new date is usually available within days.
Because an hourly rate shifts the risk onto you. If the staircase takes longer than expected, an hourly rate costs you more; with a fixed price we carry that. You know what the move costs before you book — even if we end up taking twice as long as planned. For several instruments on the same date we quote a combined transport with a combination discount — cheaper for you than two separate fixed prices.
